Captain Russ Schnering

Although I was born in Chicago, Illinois, Manatee County has been my primary residence since before my first birthday. I served six years in the US Marine Corps, where I was given the opportunity to fish in locations such as the Gulf of Honduras, the Persian Gulf and off the Island of Oahu.

In the year 2000, after returning from the military, I received my US Coast Guard Captain's License and started running fishing charters. I have participated in many tournaments with several top ten finishes and one first place in a local Redfish tournament.

I started fishing the waters around Tampa Bay in the early seventies with my late father. It was his love for fishing that made me realize it was an occupation that I wanted to pursue from an early age.
