With winter behind us and the water temperatures on the rise, fishing has been great here in the Tampa Bay area. Below are some examples of what we have been catching and what we can look forward to this summer.
Inshore
We have been bringing snook, trout and redfish to the boat the past few weeks and expect that to continue through the summer. Using live shiners, both under a float and free-lined, has been our best technique. Our 23' Parker, powered with it's new Honda 250 outboard and Minn Kota trolling motor, ensures a comfortable ride getting to all of our fishing spots.
Offshore
Our trips into the Gulf have been producing amberjack, grouper, snapper and permit. We have been using live bait as well as cut bait to bring these fish over the gunwale. Our 31' Contender, powered with two 350 Suzuki outboards and a Minn Kota trolling motor, gets us to and from our spots safely. We have been fishing between 20 and 50 miles from shore using heavy spinning rods as well as conventional setups. With red snapper season starting June 1st, now is the time to give us a call and schedule a trip!
